Cambridge Antique Fair
Cambridge Hosts Another Great Show
A sizeable crowd was on
hand again for the 14th annual Cambridge Antique Fair. While a
large number of familiar faces were seen, we were happy to see many
newcomers on both sides of the table.
At the open, the lines
were deep as usual as collectors and
antique hunters poured through the gates. Over 800 dealers
occupying over 325 booths filled the fairgrounds.
While Internet sales of antiques grows with popularity, there is no
substitute for the old fashioned way of hunting for treasures and the
thrill that accompanies a great find. Indeed, the Internet
introduces more people to the joy of collecting. The Cambridge
Antique Fair has proved to be the perfect place for collectors and
dealers to meet, to exchanges stories of neat finds, and to put antiques
into the hands of those that appreciate them most.
As always, there was a good
selection of antiques to be found, with several new dealers taking
spaces this year. A wide variety of
antiques and collectibles were represented, including furniture,
glassware, postcards, paper goods, souvenir glass, advertising items,
toys, pottery, primitives, photographica, home décor items and much
more.
As the good reputation
of the Cambridge Antique Fair becomes more nationally known, a broader
base of collectors attends the show with serious intentions of bringing
home quality items for their collections. They weren't let down.
Dealers and buyers alike were very pleased with the sales and purchases
made at this year's Cambridge Antique Fair. Serious and casual collectors and antique hunters
will find an excursion to the 2006 show most certainly worth their
while.
The food vendors
offered some of the best food to be found at any antique show.
Aside from the usual hamburgers and hot dogs, buyers could consume taco
salad, cheese curds, corn dogs, ice cream and a lot of other
delicious tidbits.
