Will of John Huit, Junr., executed 19 Jan 1809, executor's bond 11 Oct 1809.

In the Name of God Amen. I John Huit Junr of the State North Carolina and County of Onslow, planter, being Very Sick and week but of sound mind and Memory thanks be to God for the Same calling Unto mind the Mortality of my Body and Knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of All I Give and recommend my Soul into the hands of Almity God that gave it and my Body I recommend to the earth to be Buried in decent Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as Touching Such worldly Estate [most of line illegible because of tear] to bleass me in this life I Give Devise and dispose of the same in following manner and form ---
Item I give and Bequeath to my son Dempsey Weeks Huit One Hundred and thirty Acres of Land where I now live also two Negroes by the name Edmond and [America?] also one Negro woman by the name of Esther to him and Heirs for ever.
Item I also give and bequeath to my Son Dempsey Weeks Huitt my Black Mare all my cattle and Hogs, all my Hives of Bees, three beds, & firniture together with my household furniture of every kind to him and his Heirs for ever
Item It is my will and desire that my Land on White Oak River in Jones County containing one hundred fifty acres now on lease to my son Rigdon shall by Assesment for the Term of Nineteen years to [____] from the date hereof at the price of Twelve Barrels of corn pr year and and that corn be paid yearly to my wife Nancy Huit for her support and support my son Dempsey Weeks Huit.
Item It is my will and Desire that Land before mentioned at the expiration of the Nineteen years be Equally Divided Between my Grandson William Huit and my Grandson John Huit son of Rigden Huit and In case either of them should die Before they come to the Age of Twenty One years that my Son Dempsey Weeks Huit should have that part of said Land which would have belonged to the Deceased.
Item It is my will and Desire In case my Son Dempsey Weeks Huit Should die Before he comes to the age of Twenty years [blot] It is my will that my Grandson William Huit should have all that [personal property?] before given to my Son Dempsey Weeks Huit or that may hereafter be given that my Grandson William Huit should have it at the time when my son Dempsey W. Huit should have come to the age of Twenty years as will be lent to my wife Nancy Huit until that time.
Item I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy Huit One Negro Woman Named Becky to her and her Heirs forever. I also lend unto my wife Nancy Huit the Use of all that property both Real and personal which I have given to my son Dempsey W. Huit for the support of my wife Nancy and my son Dempsey Untill my Son Dempsey should arive to the age of Twenty One years.
Item It is my will and Desire that all my Just Debts be paid Out of Such Monies Notes and Accounts which I shall leave and that the Remainder be applied [several words crossed out] to the Use of Schooling my son Dempsey and it is my express Desire that my Son Dempsey W. Huit should be Bound at the age of Sixteen years to some Mechanical Trade at the [Discretion? / Direction?] of my Executors. And I also give and bequeath to my Son Dempsey W. Huit all the Remaining part of my Property if any except my smooth Bored gun --- I give and bequeath to my son Rigden Huit ---
Item It is my will that my Daughter Ellener Huit be paid five shillings by my Executors out of the [profits? / proceeds?] of my Estate ---
I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend John Farr and my son Dempsey W. Huit at the age of Twenty One years Executors of this my last will and Testament Declaring all Others to be Null and Void and it is to be my last will ---
In witness where of I have here unto affixed my hand and Seal this 19th day of January in the year of Our Lord 1809.

On 11 Oct 1809 Rigdon Hewitt filed a bond of one thousand pounds as administrator [not executor] of this estate. Surety was Stephen Grant and Israel Barber. He was granted letters of administration on the estate.
