The Will Of Benjamin Fordham III

In the name of God, amen. I, Benjamin Fordham, of Jones County,
North Carolina being of sound and disposing mind, knowing that I must shortly
depart this life, deem it right and proper, Both as it respect my family and
myself, deem it right and proper, that I should make a disposition of the
property which a kind Providence has blessed me. I do therefore make this my
last will and testament hereby revoking and annuling all others by me
heretofore made.
ITEM 1. I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and
Christian-like manner, suitable to my circumstances and conditions in my life,
my soul I trust will return to rest with God who gave it, as I hope for
salvation through the merits and atonement of my blessed Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ whose religion I have professed and humbly enjoyed for 38 years.
ITEM 2. I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay
by my Executors herein-after named and appointed.
ITEM 3. I give, bequeth and devise to my beloved wife, Mary Fordham, my
Negro boy Burrell, about eight years of age, also two beds and the steads and
furniture, to-wit: those that were bought from the estate of John Hogan,
deceased, one sow and pigs; one cow and calf, 400 pounds of pork, 100 bushels
of corn and 12 bushels of wheat.
ITEM 4. I give and bequeth to my daughter Elizabeth Billue, wife of James
R. Billue, my Negro girl, Nancy, of yellow complexion, about 16 years of age
and her increase.

six daughters.

(married Elizabeth Pickles), Robert T.D. Fordham, (married Mary Ann Dominey),
Francis N. Fordham, (married Sarah Deese) unsure. Wiley Fordham, (married
Lucretia Cannon), Benjamin A. Fordham, (married Roseann Lord), Zenus Fordham,
( married Lucinda Rigsby, Nancy Dominey and Mary Hogan), the following
property, to-wit: my Negro, woman named Judah, about 72 years old, Bryant
about 57 years old, Dorcas, a woman, about 58 years of age; Parents: Benjamin FORDHAM II and Mary BLACKSHEAR.
