bullet Edward Grayham WEEKS(155) was born in Jul 1852 in Carteret Co., NC. He died about 1915 in Carteret Co., NC. "Graham Weeks was born July, 1852, in Carteret county near the old Hadnot Creek Church on White Oak River. His parents were John and Emeline Hewitt Weeks. He was a great-grandson to Jabez Weeks by Jabez's oldest son, Jessie. Jabez was a prominent Baptist Minister, plantation owner and slave master who died 10 Aug 1828.

Grayham's mother died while her children were very young and it is believed his father married Hannah G. Taylor on 21 May 1857. Hannah was the daughter of Jabez and Sophia Taylor. By the year 1860, it is believed his father had also died. Grayham and his siblings were reared by their grandmother Francis (wife of Jessie) and aunts Charlott, Parmilla (married to Elijah Adams) and Mary (married to Jeremiah Watson).

When he was a young man, Grayham moved to the Havelock area in Craven County, presumably because his stepmother, Hannah, and her family lived there. In 1870, he was living with David and Emily Roberts in the Newport Township, possibly near Havelock.

Edward Grayham Weeks married Mary Elizabeth Godwin 24 Jan 1883. They were married by A. J. Chesnutt, JP, in the home of Mary's parents, Joseph (Jasper) and Caroline Taylor Godwin (marriage license recorded in Craven Co. He lived in Havelock long enough for ten of his eleven children to be born. In 1901, he moved to the Carteret Co. area near his brother, Nicholas and became a tenant farmer for Dr. Ennett. Grayham died about 1915.
